Bakehouse, Miami event

0 Sat 24, December 2011 in NEWS by nadmin

For NGO Art Studio, establishing a presence in cosmopolitan Miami is the next step for the artistic growth of its artists. Interacting with the public and other artists will be a life changing experience for NGO Art Studio artists who, individually or in groups of two or three, will come to Bakehouse Art Complex for approximately six weeks at a time. Nearly all are graduates of respected Fine Arts Academies in the Balkans who wish to further their artistic explorations through a variety of art styles and cultural momentum. The cumulative effect will be to increase public attendance at cultural institutions, to improve economic development and cultural diversity (recognizing its legitimacy, as well as seeking to preserve and enrich it), and to help build a common culture and consequently, greater social cohesion. For artists from NGO Art Studio to have an opportunity to expose their work to a wide audience is really important, and direct contact with prominent Curators, Gallerists, and Collectors is an opportunity not available in Macedonia. This collaboration offers the possibility for some Bakehouse Art Complex artists to have reciprocal studio and/or exhibition opportunities in Skopje, Tirana, and/or Pristine, as well as at the Macedonian Cultural Center in Berlin.
